Caleb Houston. When I was 11, I got into 80’s rock music and that is what kickstarted my journey as a musician. I am a self-taught guitarist. I decided to pick up a guitar at the age of 12. I have not stopped since. I joined a band at the school of music in North Bay. We did multiple live performances, and at that point I knew I was made to perform. When I graduated from grade 8, I received the music award. I attended an international music camp for the past 3 years to dive deeper into being a musician and be mentored by world-renowned musicians. I have played with local bands, played at local gigs, and have performed at open mics in the area.  I am currently in 10th grade at Almaguin Highlands Secondary school. I am taking guitar classes at the top level. Bands like Journey, Guns and Roses and Queen really influenced me as a guitarist. Recently in the past two years I have really enjoyed 90’s grunge, punk, metal, and pop rock and have loved playing that style of music. I am extremely excited to share my love of music with everyone.

Congratulations to Mr. Gord Grasser on being the newest inductee representing the District of Nipissing into the NOCMaA(Northern Ontario Country Music Association "Oprey" in Sault Ste. Marie in November 2026.

Gord started playing guitar at 5 years old, jamming along with all the local musicians (Trout Creek, Ontario and beyond) and also at house parties in Trout Creek and Powassan.  The 5 string banjo followed at the age of 13.

Gord started in his "first" band at the age of 16, with his uncle, Warren Whitehead, along with Bernie and Gord Kerr and Dick Gibbings.  They played in local bars and at the same time his father, Ron Grasser, became very invovled in the "Bluegrass" community in Trout Creek and River Valley, with the famous Tony Debour at the helm.

Later playing in various different bands, playing the 5 string banjo, guitar, mandolin or bass.  Some of the talented musicians that he played with include Dean Tofflemire, Mike McKee, Tim Ellery, Denis, Juleann & Emily Chadbourne, Doug Debour, Rich Koop and others (Larry Carriere, Don Reed, Matt Naveau, Lee Roy, Murray Hale, Todd and Lynn Case and last but not least Bonita Mercer in both Country and Bluegrass genres.

So many good times and memboires made, always ready to step up and help out on short notice.
